Our Story

Founded in 1979 by Doris Walker, HOPE Center for the Arts began with a vision sparked by the talent of a blind student with autism, Paul Kuehn. This vision led to the formation of the Hi Hopes band and the establishment of a nurturing environment for artistic expression. From its humble beginnings with just 8 students, the organization has grown to serve 50 adults with intellectual disabilities, providing them with a platform to shine.

Impact

HOPE Center for the Arts empowers adults with intellectual disabilities through transformative arts programming, enabling them to reach their highest potential.
