Our Story
Founded in 1988, Homeward Bound WNC is dedicated to ending homelessness in Buncombe County. By adopting the Housing First model in 2006, the organization has successfully moved over 2,600 individuals into stable housing.
Impact
In the past year, Homeward Bound provided homes for 80 veterans and 210 chronically homeless individuals, while preventing homelessness for 690 individuals, including 509 veterans. The organization boasts a remarkable 92% retention rate for clients in permanent supportive housing after 12 months.
