The Hometown Education Foundation was founded in 2004 by Prof. Tonghai Yang to assist impoverished children in China in continuing their education from elementary through high school, and in some cases, college. The foundation aims to prevent these children from dropping out of school due to financial constraints, often stemming from family hardships such as loss of parents or chronic illness.
Since its inception, HEF has raised nearly 14 million RMB and supported over 15,000 needy students, significantly impacting their educational opportunities and futures.
