For over 50 years, Oakridge Neighborhood has been a beacon of hope for families in Des Moines, Iowa. Founded by the Des Moines Area Council of Churches, this vibrant community has welcomed over 20,000 families and 75,000 individuals since its inception in 1969. With 339 safe and affordable housing units, Oakridge provides a nurturing environment where families can thrive and work towards self-reliance.

Impacting the Community

Every day, Oakridge Neighborhood Services supports over 100 children in a nationally accredited early childhood program, 250 youth in after-school initiatives, and 100 adults through workforce development and citizenship programs. These services are crucial in fostering a brighter future for the community.
