This innovative program provides essential building trades training and re-entry employment assistance to offenders, significantly reducing recidivism while constructing quality homes for Iowans. The first home was delivered in January 2020, marking the beginning of a mission to empower individuals and strengthen communities.
As of mid-2024, Homes for Iowa has successfully built, sold, and moved 101 homes, achieving a remarkable lifetime recidivism rate of just 6.1% among program participants. This demonstrates the program's effectiveness in fostering meaningful employment and reintegration into society.
