Our Story

Established in 1990, the Homeless Advocacy Project is the only legal services organization dedicated to providing direct civil legal services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. HAP advocates for its clients, promoting changes in city policies that benefit the most vulnerable members of the community.

Impact

Since its inception, HAP has reached out to clients in homeless shelters, transitional housing sites, and soup kitchens throughout Philadelphia. Over 63,000 clients have received free civil legal services valued at more than $114 million.
