Home for Good Dog Rescue, based in Berkeley Heights, NJ, is dedicated to rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters in the South. Since its inception in 2010, this 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization has transformed the lives of over 12,000 dogs, providing them with a second chance at life. The journey began with a small group of passionate volunteers who aimed to address the urgent need for animal rescue in areas with high rates of euthanasia.

Our Unique Approach

As a 100% foster-based rescue, every dog is placed in a loving foster home until they find their forever family. This model not only ensures that dogs receive the care and attention they need but also allows them to thrive in a home environment, free from the stress of a shelter. With a growing network of over 300 volunteers and 130 active foster families, Home for Good Dog Rescue continues to expand its reach and impact.
