Our Story
In 1987, a call to action from the City of West Hollywood sparked the creation of the Hollywood Food Coalition. What began as a simple effort to provide sandwiches on a street corner has evolved into a nightly Community Dinner, serving hot, nutritious meals to anyone in need. Over the years, the Coalition has grown from serving an average of 70 meals each night to approximately 200 meals nightly by 2020. The dedication of volunteers has been the backbone of this organization, ensuring that no one goes hungry in Hollywood.
Our Impact
Each year, the Hollywood Food Coalition serves over 90,000 nutritious, multi-course meals to low-income and food-insecure individuals in Hollywood, CA. Additionally, the Coalition rescues and distributes over two million pounds of food annually, providing more than a million meals to those who would otherwise go without.
