Our Story
Fifty-seven years ago, a group of passionate arts advocates recognized a growing need in Holland, Michigan. As the community expanded, local artists and designers lacked a support system to thrive. In 1967, this collective of painters, musicians, dancers, and designers came together to establish the Holland Area Arts Council. Since then, the Council has been a cornerstone for arts initiatives, organizing exhibitions and providing arts education for residents and visitors alike. The Arts Council serves as a vibrant hub where individuals of all ages can engage with art through ever-changing exhibitions, diverse classes, camps, workshops, and public art projects.
