The Holdsworth Center was founded in 2017 by Charles Butt, honoring his mother, Mary Elizabeth Holdsworth, a dedicated schoolteacher and advocate for social justice. The organization is committed to improving K-12 public education in Texas by developing strong educational leaders.

Since its inception, The Holdsworth Center has positively impacted over 1,500 leaders across 75 school districts.
