Our Story

Heart of Los Angeles was founded in 1989 by Mitchel Moore, driven by a vision to provide free, youth-centered programming in under-resourced communities. Over the years, HOLA has expanded its reach, serving over 3,100 children annually in MacArthur Park/Westlake, South Central, and Watts. By addressing the critical resource gap for students and families, HOLA cultivates engaged leaders and change-makers who drive transformative, community-driven change.
