Our Story
Founded in the late 1970s by nurse Jayne Mazzarella, the Hitchcock Center for Women began as a 10-bed halfway house in Cleveland, Ohio. Recognizing the urgent need for substance abuse treatment among women, the center has grown significantly over the decades, now serving over 300 women annually. The center uniquely allows mothers to stay with their young children during treatment, fostering a nurturing environment for recovery.
