Our Story

The Historic Hopewell Foundation was established in 1972 to preserve Weston Manor, a historic house built in 1789. This foundation not only aims to interpret the rich history of the City of Hopewell but also to honor the stories of the enslaved community associated with Weston Manor. Over the years, the foundation has expanded its mission by acquiring additional historic properties, including St. Denis Chapel.

Our Impact

Through dedicated efforts, the foundation has successfully restored and opened historic properties to the public, fostering a deeper understanding of local history.
