Founded in 1975, Historic Gettysburg Adams County is dedicated to preserving the rich historical heritage of Adams County, Pennsylvania. Guided by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, the organization focuses on the preservation, interpretation, and appreciation of significant historical sites, including the Gettysburg National Cemetery and the Eisenhower National Historic Site.
Since launching the Investing in Youth Initiative in 2019, HGAC has empowered local youth with skills in historic preservation. The organization has successfully installed 33 new Civil War Hospital Signs and conducted multiple Learning Labs, fostering a deeper appreciation for the region's historical resources.
