Our Story

His Work Foundation began its mission in the early 1960s in Keren, Eritrea, focusing on construction projects that built schools, medical clinics, and churches. Over the decades, the foundation expanded its reach to multiple African nations, including Kenya and Ethiopia. Founded by a dedicated group of Catholic clergy and lay missioners, including Monsignor Ken Leone, Deacon Hugh Downey, and Nurse Marty Downey, the foundation has over 100 years of combined missionary experience. This unique perspective allows for a deep understanding of the needs of the Church and the communities it serves.

Impact

Last year, His Work Foundation provided grants to 36 priests for 47 different projects across five African nations, totaling $149,421. This funding directly supports vital community initiatives.
