Our Story

Founded by Carl McCraven in 1966, Hillview Mental Health Center emerged from a vision to provide essential human services in Los Angeles. As one of the first African American engineers in the early space program, McCraven recognized the dire need for mental health support in the East San Fernando Valley. Over the past 50 years, Hillview has evolved into a comprehensive mental health service provider, focusing on an integrated approach that addresses medical care, housing, employment, and transportation needs.
