Our Story
Founded in 1929, the Hillandale Volunteer Fire Department began its journey with a donated 1929 International truck and a 1931 Brockway fire engine. Initially operating from a barn loaned by the Rector of the Queen of Apostles Seminary, HVFD has evolved to meet the growing needs of Hillandale and surrounding communities. Over the decades, it has played a crucial role in emergency response, including significant events like 9/11.

HVFD has been pivotal in providing comprehensive emergency ambulance services and has led the way in developing advanced life support services in Montgomery County, ensuring residents receive high-quality emergency care.
