About Higher Things

Founded in 1998 by a group of dedicated LCMS pastors, Higher Things was established to create a unique, regionally focused conference for youth that embodies Lutheran values. The inaugural Dying to Live national Lutheran youth conference took place in 2000, attracting over 700 participants from 25 states. This event marked the beginning of a movement aimed at keeping young people centered on Christ and His gifts as they navigate their faith journey.

Impact of Higher Things

For over 20 years, Higher Things has been blessed to deliver the message of Jesus’ salvation to thousands of youth and young adults through summer conferences, regional retreats, and digital resources. Over 1700 LCMS congregations have been positively impacted by this mission.
