Our Story
Founded in 2003 by Henry W. Wash, High Aspirations is a faith-based program dedicated to raising the aspirations of African American males aged 8 to 18 in Kansas City. By addressing the lack of role models through mentoring, the organization aims to improve the quality of life for its participants socially, academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Impact
High Aspirations has successfully improved the GPAs of its participants by 17%. The program has facilitated transitions to college, military service, trades, or stable employment, with 38 young men finding jobs last year. Evaluations indicate strong growth in social, emotional, academic, and spiritual areas among participants.
