Our Story
Many harvests ago, a shared vision between a husband and wife led to the creation of Heritage Farm, a therapeutic working farm designed specifically for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In the spring of 1985, this vision blossomed into reality, thanks to community collaboration and dedication. Initially cultivated on a small rented parcel of land, Heritage Farm has since moved to the Howard Homestead in Bouckville, NY, where it now thrives on over 170 acres of lush countryside.
Heritage Farm offers picturesque gardens, a working greenhouse, and a variety of small farm animals, all serving as vehicles for habilitation, education, and opportunities for individuals to cultivate greater independence and responsibility. The farm is a nurturing environment where participants can grow, learn, and connect with nature.
