Our Story
Goodwill of Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas has been a cornerstone of support in the Kansas City community since 1894. Originally established as the Helping Hand Institute, it provided essential food, shelter, and work relief for the homeless. In 1978, the organization merged with Goodwill Industries to enhance its mission of empowering individuals facing barriers to employment.
Impact
Each year, Goodwill serves approximately 3,500 individuals, helping them overcome obstacles and achieve self-sufficiency through comprehensive job training and support services.
