In 2005, a group of dedicated special education teachers and parents recognized a critical gap in community involvement for individuals with special needs. They took action by partnering with First United Methodist Church Richardson to create a weeklong day camp for just five students. Today, H.E.R.O.E.S. has expanded its reach, serving 500-600 families across the Dallas metroplex. This growth is a testament to the hundreds of hours of training, innovative programming, and heartfelt dedication that have shaped H.E.R.O.E.S. into a beacon of hope for many.
