Our Story

Founded in 1997 by Dr. Eve Spratt, HALOS is dedicated to enriching the lives of children in kinship care in Charleston County, South Carolina. Initially focused on providing summer camps and birthday parties for children in foster care, HALOS recognized the unique challenges faced by kinship families. In 2007, the organization shifted its focus to support these families, becoming the first nonprofit of its kind in South Carolina. HALOS is committed to ensuring that children maintain familial bonds and receive the resources they need to thrive.
