Our Story

The Help Us Grow Foundation, Inc. was founded by Janine Broussard in response to alarming statistics regarding third-grade reading proficiency. This organization is dedicated to improving literacy among K-4th graders, focusing on character development and confidence building to help struggling readers become proficient. Utilizing a research-based curriculum developed by educators at the University of North Carolina, H.U.G. has expanded its reach to multiple schools since its inception in 2008.
