Founded in 1895 by ten dedicated individuals in Detroit, the Hebrew Free Loan Association (HFL) began with a simple yet profound mission: to provide interest-free loans to those in need within the Jewish community. As waves of immigrants arrived, HFL adapted its services to meet their pressing needs, including transportation and housing. Over the years, HFL has evolved, offering loans for education, business ventures, and personal expenses, all while maintaining a remarkable repayment rate of over 98%.
