Our Story
In 1974, a dedicated group of Jewish community members envisioned a Jewish day school in Ann Arbor. By 1975, the Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor opened its doors with just 12 kindergartners. Over the years, the school has expanded its curriculum, including a pioneering Hebrew immersion program that serves as a model for day schools nationwide. The commitment of its founders and leaders has established HDS as a vital part of the Ann Arbor Jewish community, nurturing literate Jewish children poised to become future leaders.
