Our Story

Founded in 2000, Heaven on Earth Society for Animals began as a response to the overwhelming overpopulation crisis affecting cats in Los Angeles. Initially a spay/neuter transport service, it evolved into a sanctuary for feral cats unable to return to their colonies after surgery. The organization has grown, focusing on saving cats that often go unnoticed.

Our Impact

Over the past nine years, Heaven on Earth has shifted from providing long-term sanctuary for senior and special needs cats to maximizing its lifesaving mission. With intakes increasing from 141 in 2012 to a projected 950 in 2019, the organization is dedicated to rescuing cats from municipal shelters where options are limited.
