Hearts Knit Together

Our Story
Founded in 2007, Hearts Knit Together began as a humble initiative by a group of widows and single sisters in the Temple View Branch. These compassionate women dedicated their time to knitting hats and scarves for those in need while also assembling hygiene kits for the Homeless Shelter in Salt Lake City. Under the leadership of Linda Simmons, the focus shifted to supporting the YWCA Women in Jeopardy program, providing essential welcome kits for battered women and children.
As the organization grew, generous donations from Destinations Travel, ASA Insurance Company, and Axis Insurance allowed Hearts Knit Together to expand its reach. By 2014, the organization proudly became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, ensuring that every battered women's shelter in Utah receives support. Today, Hearts Knit Together continues to provide kits for refugees, sexual assault victims, and first responders, all while being run by a dedicated Board of Directors and volunteers.
Our Impact
Hearts Knit Together is committed to showing love and support to those seeking refuge from violence and conflict in Utah. The organization is entirely volunteer-driven, transforming donations into care packages filled with necessary supplies and thoughtful gifts. These packages are delivered to women, children, and men entering domestic violence shelters, foreign refugees being resettled, and first responders assisting victims in crisis.
