Our Story

Founded in 1986 by Peace Corps volunteer Bob Walker, Hearts and Hammers began as a community initiative to refurbish homes for those in need. Starting with just one home in Dallas, the organization has expanded its reach to the Twin Cities, where it continues to thrive. Thousands of volunteers have come together to restore homes, creating a lasting impact in the community.

Impact

Since its inception, Hearts and Hammers has restored over 8,500 homes in the Twin Cities metro area and Dallas, providing essential support to low-income homeowners.
