Our Story

Founded in 1971 by Dr. John Hillabrand and Mrs. Lore Maier, Heartbeat of Toledo began as a volunteer-run initiative providing free pregnancy testing. Over the years, it has evolved into a comprehensive organization offering a range of services including ultrasounds, STI testing, options counseling, and parenting education. With a dedicated team of 14 employees and 70 active volunteers, Heartbeat of Toledo has served over 12,000 women and families through 37,317 visits since 2000.
