Founded in 1957 by Martin Sandler, Heart of Volusia, Inc. began as a response to a personal tragedy. After losing a close friend to a heart attack, Sandler established the organization to promote heart health awareness. Evolving from the Heart Association of Volusia County, it now serves the local community with a focus on health education and support.
For over 60 years, Heart of Volusia has significantly contributed to local healthcare by providing essential grants for medical equipment, supporting nursing education, and funding heart-related educational projects in schools.
