Since its inception in 1987, the Heart of the Community Foundation has been dedicated to improving heart health in the Rome community. The first Heart of the Community event raised funds for the American Heart Association, and since then, the foundation has expanded its efforts to include community heart education seminars, the Wanda J. Whitten Guest House, and a Serenity Garden at AdventHealth Redmond.
Over the past 39 years, the Heart of the Community Foundation has raised significant funds for heart-related projects, honored over 280 local heroes, and supported various charities chosen by recipients.
