About Heart of Maine Resource Center

Founded in 2018, the Heart of Maine Resource Center serves as a vital hub for the greater Dexter area, bridging the gap in essential resources. This nonprofit organization began its journey by partnering with the Piscataquis Regional Food Center to address food insecurity during the pandemic. In 2023, nearly 1600 boxes of food were distributed, showcasing the commitment to ensuring that community members have access to nutritious food.

Impact in the Community

In addition to food distribution, the Heart of Maine Resource Center collaborates with Group Workcamp to provide free home repairs biannually. This initiative ensures that homes are safe and energy-efficient, directly improving the living conditions of community members.
