Our Story

For over a century, Big Brothers Big Sisters has believed in the potential of every child. As the largest donor and volunteer-supported mentoring network in the nation, meaningful matches are made between adult volunteers, known as "Bigs," and children, referred to as "Littles," aged 6 to 18. This impactful program operates in communities across Central Illinois, fostering positive relationships that lead to lasting change.

Research shows that the relationships formed through our programs significantly improve children's lives. Littles are 52% less likely to skip school, 27% less likely to use alcohol, and 46% less likely to engage in illegal drug use. They also experience improved family relationships and increased confidence in their academic performance.
