About Healing Hearts Connection

Founded in 2001 by a compassionate group of funeral directors, Healing Hearts Connection emerged from a desire to support grieving families beyond the funeral service. Recognizing the profound impact of loss on children, the Minnesota Foundation for Children was established to create a program dedicated to helping grieving youth. In collaboration with Iowa's Amanda the Panda program, the first Hearts of Hope Family Grief Camp was launched in 2003, offering a safe space for nearly fifty children and teens to begin their healing journey.

Over the years, Healing Hearts Connection has evolved, expanding its reach and services to better serve families in need. With a commitment to staying current with childhood grief research, the organization has developed innovative, peer-based programming that fosters community and connection among those who have experienced loss. The name change in 2021 to Healing Hearts Connection reflects a broader mission to support all individuals affected by grief, not just children.
