Founded in 1980 by Coretta Scott King, Christine King Farris, and John Cox, HDDC is dedicated to restoring the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic District. Through innovative strategies like the 'block-by-block' approach, HDDC revitalizes neighborhoods while preserving their unique character.

Impact of HDDC

Since its inception, HDDC has built or restored over 100 homes, launched 60 businesses, and created more than 350 jobs, significantly enhancing the Sweet Auburn Historic District.
