Housing Choice Partners of Illinois, Inc. (HCP) was established in 1995 by dedicated fair housing advocates in the Chicago area. The organization emerged in response to the alarming concentrations of Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) households in high-poverty neighborhoods, primarily affecting communities of color. HCP initiated a housing mobility program that successfully assisted over 800 families in relocating to low-poverty, resource-rich neighborhoods. Today, HCP continues its mission in the City of Chicago and suburban Cook County, helping over 1,000 low-income households each year to explore their housing options and secure stable homes.

Making a Lasting Impact

Each year, HCP enrolls more than 1,000 families in its mobility programs, manages subsidies for over 70 affordable housing units, and collaborates with partners to advocate for policies that promote inclusive community growth. HCP is committed to ensuring that low-income families have access to fair housing choices.
