The HBCU Promise Inc. is dedicated to enrolling and supporting African American young men in their journey through college at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). With a commitment to scale our program, we currently support six HBCU Promise Princes from Florida A&M University, Grambling State University, and Benedict College. Our first graduate proudly completed his studies at Virginia State University in 2020!
Each year, the organization aims to help over 1,000 Black males enroll at HBCUs. While primarily focused on high school students in the Western United States, support extends nationwide. This initiative directly addresses the concerning statistic that Black students suspended or expelled from public schools are three times more likely to enter the criminal justice system the following year.
The mission of HBCU Promise is to change lives through education. Every donation contributes to helping Black youth achieve their higher education goals, breaking the cycle of the school-to-prison pipeline.
