Our Story
Michael Williams and Sharra Gaston, both graduates of historically Black colleges and universities, recognized a significant gap in culturally relevant mentorship and resources for youth in Roxbury. After their own transformative experiences in college, they returned to find that the supportive programs that once existed had disappeared. Driven by their passion for creating safe spaces that reflect the heritage and experiences of the youth they serve, they founded the Boston HBCU Alumni Network. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between high school and college, and from college to career, ensuring that young people of color have access to the guidance and opportunities they deserve.
