Our Story
Hazel's House Rescue began in October 2017 when a family member sought help for a litter of kittens found in a barn. After successfully socializing and adopting them out, the passion for rescuing animals ignited. In the spring of 2018, a partnership with Newberg Animal Shelter was formed, leading to the development of a foster and outreach program. By September 2020, Hazel's House Rescue became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, having rescued over 1500 cats and kittens. The mission expanded in September 2021 to include dogs, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, and even birds, while primarily focusing on cat rescue. The commitment to animal welfare continues to grow, with expectations for 2023 to be the best year yet.
