Our Story

The Hazardville Institute Conservancy Society was established in 1979 by passionate citizens dedicated to preserving the historic Hazardville Institute building in Enfield, Connecticut. Originally built in 1869, this cultural hub has served the community for generations. The Conservancy is committed to rehabilitating the Institute for public use, fostering cultural, historical, and intellectual enlightenment.

Impact

Since 2000, the Conservancy has logged over 5000 volunteer hours and received support from more than 600 donors. Significant restoration efforts are underway, with plans to reopen the Institute as a community center and heritage museum by 2025.
