Our Story

Hawkwing Inc. was born from a promise made long ago on a rural farm in the 1950s. Young Rochelle Ripley listened intently to her grandmother's stories about the Native American plight on the reservations. These tales of hardship and resilience ignited a passion within her to help others overcome adversity. With a vision to empower the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe (CRST) in South Dakota, Hawkwing has dedicated over twenty years to enhancing health, education, and community development.

Impacting Lives

Through various programs, including micro-grants and major projects, Hawkwing has touched the lives of nearly every person on the CRST. The organization works tirelessly to end hunger, provide clean water, and foster personal and community development, ensuring that the People of CRST can live healthy, fulfilling lives free from generational trauma.
