Sharing a Meal

Our Story

In 1994, members of the Sayville Congregational United Church of Christ recognized a pressing need for local outreach to those facing hunger. With the support of the Interfaith Nutrition Network, they established a soup kitchen to provide hot, nutritious meals every Tuesday night. Originally named Having Friends INN, the initiative evolved into an independent soup kitchen known as Sharing a Meal in 2017. Today, Sharing a Meal serves dinner from Monday to Thursday, welcoming all in need with open arms.

Our Impact

Sharing a Meal serves over 10,000 meals annually, ensuring that every guest is treated with kindness, dignity, and respect in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
