HART ISLAND PROJECT

To assist families and individuals with limited resources in accessing New York City public burial records, provide information concerning burial procedures on Hart Island, and to increase public awareness of the history of Hart Island as the largest natural burial ground in the United States. We do this by providing free access to an on-line database of burials with navigation, augmented reality grave marking,interpretive guide, landscape navigation as well as custom searches, personal assistance and support for creative storytelling projects about Hart Island.
