Our Story
Founded in 1996, the Harris County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council (HCDVCC) emerged from a collaborative effort among law enforcement, health services, and domestic violence programs. The Council was established to create comprehensive protocols that address every aspect of community interaction with domestic violence victims. By 1997, HCDVCC became a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing a community-wide plan to end domestic violence. This mission is supported by goals that foster cooperation among service providers, evaluate institutional responses, and educate the public about available resources.
