Our Story

Founded in a church basement in 1988, Harlem United emerged as a beacon of hope during the AIDS crisis. Activists created a compassionate community for those affected by the epidemic, and today, Harlem United provides world-class HIV care while expanding services to address various healthcare needs.

Impact

Through syringe exchange programs, cities like New York have seen a remarkable 75% drop in HIV rates among users. This year alone, Harlem United distributed 241,000 clean syringes and collected over 125,000, serving over 700 clients through its harm reduction program.
