Our Story

Founded in a church basement in 1988, Harlem United emerged as a beacon of hope during a time of extreme stigma surrounding AIDS. This compassionate community was built to support loved ones facing the devastating impacts of the epidemic. Today, Harlem United continues to provide world-class HIV care while expanding services to address various healthcare needs, advocating for social justice, and striving for health equity.

Impact

In the past year, Harlem United's harm reduction program served over 700 clients, distributing 241,000 clean syringes and collecting over 125,000, significantly reducing HIV transmission rates.
