Harlem Renaissance Education Pipeline

Our Story

The Harlem Renaissance Education Pipeline is a collaborative initiative aimed at transforming educational outcomes for families and students in Central and West Harlem. By uniting various organizations, HREP works tirelessly to dismantle harmful educational policies and practices in District 5’s public schools.

Impact

HREP has established a College and Career Readiness Collaborative Action Network, focusing on closing the disparity gap and providing essential resources. Currently, HREP coordinates the Early College High School Program in partnership with SUNY College at Old Westbury, benefiting 130 students from four District 5 high schools.

Racial equity is a core priority for HREP. For over six decades, District 5 schools have faced under-resourcing, limiting opportunities for children and families. By aligning community resources and closing the equity gap, HREP aims to equip all children with the tools they need to thrive in their post-secondary careers.
