Our Story

Founded in 2001 by Grace Kuto, Jackie Goldrick, and Nobel Peace Prize winner Wangari Maathai, Ph.D., Harambee Centre connects the Pacific Northwest with the rich cultures of Africa. The organization focuses on educational, healthcare, and community engagement projects that uplift lives in rural Eastern Africa.

Impact

Harambee Centre has transformed the lives of over 100,000 youth in rural Kenya and Uganda, improved healthcare access for over 60,000 community members in Chwele, Kenya, and fostered cultural awareness among 100,000 residents of the Pacific Northwest.
