Our Story
The HAPPY SHOES Project was inspired by Sandi Sammons, who faced her battle with Stage 4 colon cancer with grace and resilience. Diagnosed on August 26, 2015, Sandi found strength in her faith and began sharing her journey through her "Happy Shoes" posts. It all started with a simple photo of her red and white leather tennis shoes taken during treatment, accompanied by the caption, "My Happy shoes for the day!" This moment marked the birth of a movement dedicated to uplifting cancer patients.
After Sandi's transition to heaven on April 27, 2017, her legacy lives on through the HAPPY SHOES Project, which aims to inspire others to keep walking in hope, peace, joy, and strength.
